Stephanie Mitchell
Case Manager, Safeguarding and MCA Lead
Stephanie (Steph) brings over 15 years of experience in the social care and charity sectors, having qualified as a Social Worker in 2015 and obtaining her Best Interest Assessor qualification in 2019. Throughout her career, she has developed a broad and diverse skill set across Third Sector, Local Authority, and Academic settings. Her experience includes working with individuals who have experienced strokes, learning disabilities, physical and mental health conditions, and complex, multi-faceted needs, as well as conducting safeguarding inquiries.
Prior to transitioning into case management, Steph served as a Lecturer in Social Work, focussing on social care legislation, social policy, assessment and care planning, and anti-oppressive/anti-discriminatory practice. In this role, she also volunteered as a social worker for a Local Authority, where she supported social workers with case management, provided guidance, and contributed to assessments.
In January 2025, Steph joined the BPJ Case Management team, with the goal of further expanding her expertise in the field of independent multi-trauma and catastrophic injury rehabilitation. She brings with her a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by clients and their families, and the critical importance of coordinated, collaborative, multi-agency working to ensure optimal outcomes.
Steph is a Registered Practitioner Member of the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers (BABICM) and a Registered Social Worker with Social Work England. She has extensive experience in assessment, intervention, care planning, safeguarding, and the application of the Mental Capacity Act and is the Mental Capacity and Safeguarding Lead at BPJ Case Management.
