A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the role of a Support Worker in the Consett area. We are looking for flexible, driven, committed, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to work with our client. Various positions and hours are available, including mornings, evenings, weekends and school holidays. Bank and Part Time contracts available.

 

The role involves working with a 13 year old girl with Cerebral Palsy in the family home. It also involves supporting her to access the community and engage in social and leisure activities away from the house. Such activites may include (but are not limited to) hydrotherapy, soft play and Rebound.

 

The client requires support with personal care, meal preparation and feeding. She is independently mobile, but needs close supervision and some moving and handling is required.

 

We are seeking an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to follow clear plans set out by rehabilitation professionals. Applicants require a dynamic  and reliable approach and demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team.

 

Applicants must have a valid driving licence and be confident driving the client in her own vehicle in the community. Appointment will be made following successful 2-stage interview and in line with the company’s safe recruitment policy.

 

Whilst not essential, experience in working with children and / or clients with brain injury is desirable. Successful applicants will receive full training and supervision from the case manager and other professionals where required.
