A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the role of a Support in the Hartlepool area. We are looking for a flexible, driven, committed, reliable and enthusiastic individual to work with our client who resides in a care home and has a long standing brain injury.   The role will consist of 2x 9 hours shifts per week (9am-6pm) including 1 full weekend in a 4 week period.  

 

The role involves providing prompts, reminders and supervision to the client so that he can maintain his established routine and engage in valued activities such as cooking, shopping, chess, maintaining family contact and promoting his general wellbeing and quality of life.

 

The role will involve researching community activities and planning tasks and things to do with the client to promote social engagement and provide meaningful and valued activities.

 

We are seeking an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to follow clear plans set out by rehabilitation professionals. Applicants require an empathetic, sensitive and dynamic approach, and the ability to maximise the client’s choice and control over his activities.

 

The ideal candidate will have an open mind and be flexible with their approach to working in different settings and with individuals with varying levels of need.

 

No personal care is required. Car driver with own car is essential. The successful applicant will be appointed following a successful 2-stage interview, and in line with the company’s safe recruitment policy, will be subject to an “Enhanced” DBS check.

 

Whilst not essential, experience in working with individuals with brain injury is desirable. Successful applicants will receive full training and supervision from the case manager and other professionals where required.
