A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the role of a Support Worker in the Spennymoor area. We are looking for a flexible, committed, reliable and enthusiastic individual to work with our client who is in his thirties, who sustained an acquired brain injury.

 

Our client requires low key support and assistance once per week with menu planning and to take him food shopping.  He requires support with budgeting and selecting healthy choices within his budget. 

 

In addition, he requires support and encouragement to engage in community activities.

 

Close communication with our clients family is and essesntial part of the role.

 

We are seeking an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to follow clear instruction.

 

The ideal candidate will have interests in the gym, healthy eating and fitness.

 

The candidate must be comfortable with dogs and previous experience with caring for a dog would be beneficial.

 

No personal care is required. Car driver with own car is essential. Appointment will be made following successful 2-stage interview and in line with the company’s safe recruitment policy. Successful applicants will be subject to an “Enhanced” DBS check.

 

Whilst not essential, experience in working with brain injury is desirable. Successful applicants will receive full training and supervision from the case manager and other professionals where required.
